- Getting C or better in Math 102 in Summer 2011 or earlier
meets the prerequisite requirement for Math 104B, Math 105 and Math
242, except that, to register in these classes, you must have
completed Math 102 within the past year.
- Math 102, taken in Fall 2011 or later, will NOT be accepted as a
prerequisite for Math 206 or 105, or as a prerequisite/corequisite
for Math 104B.
- Passing Math 103 with a C or better in Fall 2010, Winter 2011,
Spring 2011 or Summer 2011 meets the prerequisite requirement for Math
206 for one year after completion of Math 103.
- You can also meet the prerequisite for Math 104B, Math 105 and
Math 242 by passing the Math 104A exit exam, and the prerequisite for
Math 206 by passing both the Math 104A and Math 104B exit exams. More on exit

- BS in Biology students: If you have already passed Math 102 you
should take Math 105, Math 204 and Math 205. If you have already passed Math
103 you should take Math 206 and Math 207 (in place of Math 204 and
Math 205).
- BS in Microbiology students who started at CSULA before Fall 2011:
You are required to take Math 102 and Math 103 only. If you have
already passed these courses, you have met the mathematics requirement
for the program. If you have passed Math 102 already, you should now
take Math 105 in place of Math 103 which is no longer
offered. If you have not yet passed Math 102, you should take Math 104A
and Math 105.
- BS in Microbiology students who are starting at CSULA in Fall 2011
or later: You are required to take Math 104A, Math 105 and Math
204.
- GEOL 201 and GEOL 301 had Math 102 as a prerequisite, but will
now require Math 104A instead. If you have passed Math 102 and want to
register in one of these classes, see the instructor or the department
offering the course.
- CS 201, CS 242, GEOL 372, CE 190 and CE 202 had Math 103 as a
prerequisite, but will now require Math 104B instead. If you have
passed Math 103 and want to register in one of these classes, see the
instructor or the department offering the course.
