WELCOME!
This is the Accessing Knowledge Resources Section of the CSLA Website on Information Competency. In this Section, we will expose you to guides, tutorials and other teaching material whose purpose is to help you learn six of the ten CSU Basic Information Competency Skills.
Because information competency is an integrated process, one cannot learn one part without also dealing, at least briefly, with the other skills to which it relates. For example: one cannot access knowledge resources if one has not first competently defined the research topic, and determined its information requirements; and after information has been accessed, one cannot determine if the retrieved information is relevant, unless one applies competent evalution skills. |
