ASSW: Association of Student Social Workers Scholarship
The Association of Student Social Workers (ASSW) is pleased to offer two (2) $250 scholarships to CSULA students. In addition, ASSW is partnering with the Melinda Vasquez Foundation to offer a third $250 scholarship for a single mother with one or more children under 18.
Basic Requirements:
- Must be enrolled in school for the 2009-2010 academic year and must have at least a 2.5 G.P.A.
- Must be a current student of CSULA – special consideration given to BASW students.
- Must submit a completed scholarship application, including the basic information form, 2-3 essays, 1 copy of your unofficial transcripts and 1-2 letters of recommendation. Letter(s) should be from academic and professional sources and should be in sealed envelopes.
- Finalists must be available for an interview during the Spring Quarter
- Winner must attend the ASSW Post-Graduation Celebration on June 13th from 1-4pm.
Undergraduate & Graduate Student Alumni Scholarships
The applications for the 2009-2010 undergraduate student and graduate student alumni scholarships will be available during the 2009 Fall Quarter.
UNDERGRADUATE STUDENTS
An eligible candidate must meet the following requirements:
Undergraduate student at CSULA.
- GPA 2.5 or above.
- Must plan to enroll full-time for the Winter 2010 quarter (distribution of award is contingent on confirmed enrollment).
- Must have completed 45 college units (attained sophomore status) at the time of application.
- Have significant campus and/or community involvement and/or leadership.
- Transfer students with less than 24 units completed at CSULA at the time of application must submit an official or unofficial copy of your college transcripts (Community College or other four year University).
GRADUATE STUDENTS
An eligible candidate must meet the following requirements:
- Have a degree objective and possess “Graduate Classified” standing at CSULA (check with your department or the registrar’s office if you are unsure of your standing).
- GPA 3.5 or above.
- Must plan to enroll during Winter 2010 quarter (distribution of award is contingent on confirmed enrollment).
- Completion of 16 graduate level college units from CSULA at the time application is submitted.
