Food Science and Technology Scholarship

Dear Food Science and Technology Scholarship Applicants:     
 
Congratulations!!  You are about to do one of the most important things in your life - pursue a college degree.  There are just three simple steps that you need to follow in order to get started.  Simply fill out two applications on both websites and you have your college application and tuition (if you qualify) taken care of.  In addition to the financial aid you may receive from the state or federal government (depending on your financial situation), don’t forget that you may also qualify for the Food Science and Technology Scholarship we are currently offering for the incoming students of Summer or Fall, 2009.  That may mean your tuition, books and many more expenses are paid for without you having to borrow a loan.  Grab this opportunity and apply today!!

  1. HOW TO APPLY? 
  2. Step One:  Application online through the CSUMentor website:  https://secure.csumentor.edu/AdmissionApp/ and click on the box that include Fall 2009 which is the quarter you will be applying for.  Classes begins Sept. 24, 2009.      
  3. * DEADLINE APRIL 1 for Summer and JUNE 15, 2009 for Fall.
  4. Step Two:  Apply to Food Science and Technology Scholarship (see attached application)
  5. Step Three:  Apply online for financial aid (this includes grants, money that you don’t have to give back)

TIP: State forms do not replace filling out the FAFSA. You must fill out the FAFSA to receive federal student aid.

Important Notes about Admissions

Prospective students who need detailed assistance before submitting an application for admission may schedule an appointment with a preadmission counselor in Admissions and University Outreach, (323) 343-3178.  Applicants are encouraged to apply during the first month of the filing period. All applications received during this initial filing period will be considered. However, applications received after the first month of the filing period are handled on a first-come, first-served basis until enrollment goals are met. Applications received after enrollment goals have been met for the quarter indicated will automatically be moved to the next available quarter. Applicants must request that official copies of all required transcripts be mailed directly to the Cal State L.A. Office of University Admissions from the institution(s) attended.

  2. Application Fee

An application fee of $55 in U.S. funds, payable to the California State University, is required for each application filed. The fee is NON-REFUNDABLE and may not be transferred to another term at any campus.
In case of financial hardship, campuses allow a limited number of application fee waivers for residents of California. There are four quarters (Fall, Winter, Spring and Summer) per academic year.  The cost of tuition for three quarters (if you take summer off) is around $3,900.
