

Prior to contacting the advisement office, please read through the “Frequently Asked Questions” page. Our advisors are looking forward to helping you should you need further assistance. The advisement office takes walk-ins only during open office hours. These hours can be obtained by calling the Criminal Justice Office or, if you are a current student, by accessing WebCT-HHS-CrimAdvise.
UNDERGRADUATE MAJORS
All new and prospective Criminal Justice students are welcome to come to the Criminal Justice Advisement Office at any time the office is open. New students should bring an unofficial copy of their transcripts to the advising office and current students should bring their Criminal Justice program sheet (original yellow form or WebCT print-out). If you are transferring to Cal State LA, you should ask your Junior College about Full GE Certification prior to applying to the university. The advisement office is located in the Hertzberg-Davis Forensic Science Center, Room 250. They can be contacted at (323) 343-4618. The Criminal Justice Advising Office covers:

GRADUATE STUDENTS
Graduate Criminal Justice and Criminalistics students are assigned an advisor at the time they are admitted to the program. Each student is expected to work closely with her or his advisor in a mentoring relationship throughout the time needed to complete work for the Master’s Degree.
COLLEGE OF HHS: GENERAL EDUCATION ADVISEMENT
The College of Health and Human Services’ Advisement Outreach Center (AOC) is open for questions regarding general education requirements to admitted first-time freshmen and transfer students. The office sees students by appointment only. They are located in the Fine Arts Building, Room 238. Appointments can be made by calling (323) 343-5500.
