SCHOLARSHIPS
Cal State L.A.'s College of Engineering, Computer Science, and
Technology is committed to helping students find adequate financial
assistance to complete their undergraduate or graduate curriculum.
As such, the following list of scholarships are open to Engineering
and Technology students for each academic year. Scholarship amounts
range from $100 to $1,000. In order to be considered for an Engineering
and Technology scholarship, students must file a Cal State L.A.
Scholarship
Application by the stated deadline (usually in March or April).
The application can be obtained by clicking on the above link, from
Cal State L.A.'s Scholarship Office (SA118), or from the College
of Engineering, Computer Science, and Technology Office (KH D-151).
- Richard Griffin Scholarship: One award will be given
to an Electrical and Computer Engineering major who is a full-time
student with a minimum GPA of 3.0.
- Kenneth Hayworth Memorial Scholarship: One award will
be given to an Engineering major who is a full-time student with
a minimum GPA of 2.5. Scholarships will be awarded based on financial
need.
- Sean King Memorial Scholarship: One award will be given
to a student majoring in Engineering who has demonstrated exceptional
leadership in student organizations. Minimum GPA 3.0.
Must demonstrate financial need.
- L.A. County Foundation of Civil Engineers and Land Surveyors
Scholarship: One award will be given to an upper division
Civil Engineering student who has an overall minimum GPA of 3.25
(as well as a minimum GPA of 3.25 in completed Civil Engineering
courses).
- L.A. Department of Water and Power/Alex Radin Perpetual Scholarship:
Three to four awards will be given to Engineering students who
are U.S. citizens or permanent residents. A minimum GPA of 2.7
is required. Civil Engineering applicants must have coursework
in civil, structural, water resources, or environmental areas.
Electrical Engineering applicants must have coursework in general
electric or power systems. Mechanical Engineering applicants must
have coursework in mechanical or energy areas. Must demonstrate
financial need.
- Martin Roden Electrical Engineering Scholarship: Ten
awards will be given to full-time, undergraduate Electrical Engineering
students. Applicants must have a strong GPA and be involved
in professional activities.
- Sikand Scholarship Fund: Two awards will be given to
junior- or senior-level Civil Engineering students with a minimum
GPA of 3.0. Must demonstrate financial need.
- David and Susan Wilstein: One award will be given to
a full-time Civil Engineering major with a minimum GPA of 3.0.
- Fred Zahrt, Jr./Epsilon Pi Tau: One award will be given
to an outstanding student in the Department of Technology. Special
consideration will be given to Epsilon Pi Tau members.
- Civil Engineering Faculty Scholarship: At least
one award will go to an undergraduate Civil Engineering major.
Minimum GPA of 2.5. Must demonstrate financial need.
- Electrical and Computer Engineering Faculty Scholarship:
At least one award will go to an undergraduate in Electrical &
Computer Engineering. Minimum GPA of 2.5. Must demonstrate
financial need.
- Technology Faculty Scholarship: At least one award
will go to an undergraduate Technology major. Minimum GPA
of 2.5 Must demonstrate financial need.
- Fire Protection Administration Scholarship: One
award will go to a student in the Fire Protection Administration
Program in the Department of Technology.
- Carl & Karen Haase Scholarship: One award will
go to an undergraduate Engineering major. Minimum GPA of
2.5 Must demonstrate financial need.
- Richard Hoffman Memorial Scholarship: Three awards
will go to students who are Printing Management majors or preparing
for a career as a Graphic Arts educator. Minimum GPA of
2.75, possible renewal based on performance review.
- Industry Advisory Board Scholarship: At least one
award will go to an undergraduate in the College of Engineering,
Computer Science, and Technology who has a minimum GPA of 2.5.
Must demonstrate financial need.
- Ray and Kathy Landis Scholarship: One award will
go to a full-time undergraduate majoring in Engineering or Technology.
A Minimum GPA of 2.5 is required.
- Mechanical Engineering Faculty Scholarship: At
least one award will go to an undergraduate majoring in Mechanical
Engineering with a minimum GPA of 2.5. Must demonstrate
financial need.
- College of Engineering, Computer Science, and Technology
Alumni Scholarship: At least one award will go to an
undergraduate in the College of Engineering & Technology.
Minimum GPA of 2.5 required, must demonstrate financial need.
