On Monday, February 20, from 5-6 p.m. Professor Chari and McManus will conduct a workshop for students planning to apply to Ph.D. programs and/or to apply for teaching positions in community colleges.  The workshop will be held in the English Department Seminar Room, E&T A631. Brief presentations will be followed by a question and answer session. The following topics will be covered:

• Writing a strong personal statement
• Studying for the GRE subject exam in English
• Compiling a list of desirable programs
• Understanding recent admission trends
• Requesting letters of recommendation

All interested students are invited to attend this workshop.
