Important
Information Regarding the Online Version of ENGL 102:
Online
Delivery – This course is delivered completely online through
WebCT. There are no on-campus class meetings. Instead, all
interaction between the students and the instructor take place in
WebCT. All assignments will be submitted through WebCT. You
MUST REGISTER FOR THE
COURSE ON GET AS YOU WOULD ANY OTHER COURSE. You then must
“self-register” for the course on WebCT. Self-registration on
WebCT for ENGL 102 is NOT the same thing as registering for the
course on GET. You must do both. You will be
dropped from the on-line class if you self-register through WebCT
without first registering through GET.
Self-registration
on WebCT will take place the first week of spring quarter. As with
traditional courses, you officially register in the course through
GET, but to access the course after GET registration, you must
self-register into WebCT as well. YOU MUST SELF-REGISTER INTO THE
WEBCT COURSE IN ORDER TO ACCESS THE COURSE. Think of this as
"checking into the course" once the quarter begins.
Self-registering on WebCT does not require extra registration
fees.
YOU MUST SELF-REGISTER ON WEBCT ONCE THE SPRING QUARTER BEGINS (March
30, 2009)! Otherwise
you will miss assignments and the class orientation.
Directions
for self-registration into ENGL 102 on WebCT are as follows:
- Make
certain that you have an internet connection and an up-to-date
browser (for example: Netscape, Internet Explorer, Mozilla Firefox,
etc.).
- Go to the
self-registration WebCT website.
- YOU MUST HAVE AN NIS ACCOUNT IN ORDER TO REGISTER AND LOGIN TO WEBCT 6.2.

on “Course List” on the left-hand menu.
- Choose
“View by term” and move from “default” to “Spring 2008”.
Then click “Update” button (on the right hand side).

follow directions to self-register.
- Once
you are self-registered, simply click on the “Login” button on
the main WebCT page, fill in your WebCT ID and password, and you

A Student

educational and informational workshops help students to
effectively use WebCT. I strongly recommend that you attend
one of these workshops.
Note:
In order to use WebCT, you must allow your browser to accept

allow your browser to accept pop up windows. Again, do so before
