P.E.T. Laboratory
Power, Energy and Transportation (P.E.T.) lab provides a handson environment that prepares students for exciting careers in todays cutting edge power, energy, and transportation fields. Access to micro-turbines, wind turbines, solar panels, and engine and chassis dynamometers provide faculty and students with the tools necessary to develop award winning projects such as the Solar Eagle and the Supermileage vehicle. This world class learning environment also allows faculty and students to learn about electric, hybrid, and alternative fuel vehicles, as well as power generation, distribution, and utilization. The efforts of key faculty and students will bring a hydrogen fueling station in the near future to meet the demands of hydrogen powered vehicles in Southern California.
