It is with a heavy heart and great sadness that we have to officially announce that as of today not one of our Mechanical Engineering classes enrolled enough students to be considered viable. We have no choice but to cancel all of our class offerings this summer. We apologize for this. I know you all will have questions
*important* Dr. Guillaume will be conducting open door Advisement session every Tuesday at 10:00am starting 6/22/10 until the start of the Fall Quarter 2010 *important*
Bachelors Programs
Freshmen and Sophomore
Various Community Colleges are offering 100 and 200 level ME courses during their summer session. East Los Angeles College is offering a similar schedule to ours and they are very compatible with our program. If you have questions on what classes are acceptable please check this website http://www.assist.org. ELAC is offering Dynamics this summer. If you have not done so already get those Math , English and Physics classes out of the way.
Junior and Senior
Unfortunately Junior colleges do not offer 300 or 400 level courses. Call us and let us see if there is any options to assist you. This will be a case by case basis as options are very limited if any at all.
FALL Professional Practice!
Those of you who were planning on enrolling into Professional Practice in Fall by taking the prerequisites in Summer, contact us immediately. Dr. Guillaume and Dr. Pham will discuss the impact the loss of summer will have on your progress. Unfortunately ABET restrictions prohibits leniency on requisites. The final Decision on what to do will come from Drs. Pham and Guillaume
Masters Program and Graduating Senior
Due to the Loss of our 500 and 400 level courses our Options are severely limited. Keep in mind that we are allowed to accept up to two courses outside of the ME program, however there are some restrictions. The easiest courses to accept are 400 or 500 level; Electrical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Physics, and Math courses. Everything else needs to be cleared with Dr. Guillaume. If you have any questions contact me immediately
The Mechanical Engineering office will continue to operate under normal business hours during the Summer Quarter. If you need assistance or just want to drop by to say hi, please feel free to do so.
