Welcome
Professional engineers embody imagination, innovation, and creativity coupled with the ability to apply science and math to develop solution in to problems in a complex society. Today, the rapid speed of technological innovation is coupled with the complex globalization of our economic, social and political infrastructure. The 21st century engineers must be educated to be a well rounded individuals with strong analytic and design skills as well as and appreciation of social, economic, cultural, and humanistic traditions in a global society.
The CSULA Bachelors Degree in engineering program prepares its students for the professional world and advanced study in various disciplines through rigorous study of general education, core math and science, a common engineering core curriculum, and special option based design. Our core curriculum requires students to take an interdisciplinary suite of engineering science, coupled with the rigors of fundamental math and science. The program is designed to produce graduates who are exceptionally competent and whose work is notable for its breadth and technical excellence, emphasizes an interdisciplinary approach to problem solving. Through special options students build a stronger knowledge of engineering science and design in at least one core area of study.
Currently, CSULA offers a special option in Manufacturing engineering. In the future we aim to develop additional special options in construction management, environmental engineering, biomedical engineering. The B.S. in Engineering program dates back to the inception of Engineering at Cal State L.A. in 1953.
