CE-195 Introduction to Civil Engineering Design

INTRODUCTION:

This web page contains document planning and preliminary design of a local road form an existing county road to a new development.  For our assigned group, four alternatives were considered, analyzed, and developed.  The analysis of each road includes the cut and fill areas of such and its corresponding cost.  From the complete analysis, our group will choose the best alternative for this project according to cost, minimal constraints, and safety.

DATA COLLECTION:

Information of the surrounding area of Malibu including the description of trees, streams, rock, and hazardous sites.

ALTERNATIVES CONSIDERED:

Here is available information of other alternatives considered.  They include their respectively analysis along with the cost involved.  Credit is given to Civil Engineers Marcos Lozano, Lucila Martinez, and Lin Shin.


ANALYSIS OF ALTERNATIVE 2:

This is the analysis of my alternative in depth.  For better understanding visually, all cross-sections are posted in AutoCad and Excel.  The all cost analysis calculations and costs involved for this route which include, but not limited to, pavement, retaining walls, and cuts and fills.
