The Division of Applied and Advanced Studies in Education offers graduate programs of study leading to a variety of credentials and certificates, undergraduate, graduate degrees and doctoral degrees.
Credential and Certificate Programs
Credential programs are offered in Educational Administration: Preliminary Administrative Services (Tier I), along with the M.A. in Educational Administration, and Professional Administrative Services (Tier II). Certificate programs are also offered in Computer applications in schools and Teaching English as a Second or Foreign Language.
Undergraduate Program
The Bachelor of Arts degree in Urban Learning is a blended multiple subject matter teacher preparation program which combines courses in teacher preparation with major courses emphasizing an interdisciplinary approach to understanding urban learning as a social phenomenon. The major is supported by a depth area in social sciences with focuses on diversity and a choice of either an education minor to prepare students to teach in elementary schools or an education specialist minor for teachers working as interns in special education settings.
Graduate Programs
Our five programs are the Master of Arts in Educational Foundations; the Master of Arts in Computer Education and Technology Leadership and New Media Design and Production; the Master of Arts in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages; the Master of Arts in Educational Administration. Courses in Educational Research, Evaluation, and Statistics are offer as service courses to other degree programs.
