TEACHING INTERESTS
Mass Communication Theory and Research; Cultural Studies; Media Violence; Cross-Cultural Mass Communication; Persuasion Theory and Research; Media, "Race"/Ethnicity, Gender and Class; Media Law; Audience Theory and Research.
RESEARCH INTERESTS

Methodologically I am interested in combining qualitative and quantitative analyses in pursuit of a fuller understanding of these questions.

In my dissertation I argue that US society is in the middle of a very interesting and important period of "racial"/ethnic struggle, stemming from the political and ideological battles prompted by the social movements of the fifties, sixties and early seventies.
