Performance Studies -- Students interested in pursuing this option will examine the ways in which each of us performs various roles and “identities” that intersect categories such as race, ethnicity, religiosity, culture, gender, age, ability, and sexual orientation. This interdisciplinary option focuses on critical theory and how notions of power influence expectations and discourse among individuals and in society. Career paths include performance arts and criticism, cultural studies, social activism and commentary, and theater arts.
