Nina O’Brien (PhD, University of Southern California) is an Assistant Professor, dually appointed in the Departments of Communication Studies and Management. Dr. O’Brien’s research focuses on the organizational and communication practices and systems which characterize creative industries like film, television and new media production, as well as the not-for-profit and civil society sectors. Her research also extends to the study of labor conditions, relations and negotiations as they occur in these unique industries. Dr. O’Brien teaches courses in Communication Theory, Organization Theory, Social Network Theory and Analysis, Organizational Communication, and Business Communication, and especially enjoys working with students as they prepare for the transition from college to their professional or academic careers.
