Dr. Bai received his undergraduate education in the People’s Republic of China. In 1986 he came to the United States of America as a scholarship student. He earned his MA in Communication from the State University of New York at Albany and his Ph.D. from the University of Southern California. He began his teaching career at Cal State, LA in 1995. Now he is a full professor of Communication Studies.
Dr. Bai teaches a variety of undergraduate and graduate courses, such as Communication Theory, Quantitative Research Methods, Intercultural Communication, Communication and Leadership, Nonverbal Communication and so on. Dr. Bai’s primary research is in the areas of globalization, intercultural communication and business communication. He has co-authored a book in Chinese on globalization and media, translated an award-winning textbook and published articles in the Western Journal of Communication, Instructionally Speaking, the World Journal, the Chinese Daily News. In Addition, he has given over 20 presentations at the international, national and regional conferences and professional seminars.
