The Communication major at Cal State LA offers opportunities for a comprehensive study of human communication as it pertains to the dynamics of individual, social, and civic life. We offer an undergraduate program leading to a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in Communication, with options to concentrate in Interpersonal Communication, Organizational Communication and Public Relations, Social Change and Rhetoric, or Performance Studies. We also offer a graduate program leading to a Master of Arts (M.A.) degree in Communication Studies. Additionally, we offer a Minor in Communication for students who wish to gain experience and skills to enhance their major program of study. More...

Spotlight
- The Department of Communication Studies currently has two faculty positions open.
The first position is for an assistant professor in the Department of Communication Studies. The candidate for this position should have the ability to teach graduate and undergraduate courses in integrated strategic communication, public relations, advertising, or business/professional communication.
The second position is an open-rank position representing a joint appointment between the Department of Communication Studies and the Department of Management. Candidates for this position should have expertise in business communication, public relations, and new media technologies.
