Student Organizations

CLCMChicanos/Latinos for Community Medicine (CCM)

CCM is a student organization that was established in the 1960s in an effort to improve the representation of Mexican-Americans (Chicanos) within medical schools across the nation.


MEChA logoMovimiento Estudiantil Chicano de Aztlán (MEChA)

MEChA is a student organization that promotes higher education, cultura, and historia. MEChA was founded on the principles of self-determination for the liberation of our people. We believe that political involvement and education is the avenue for change in our society.


The Chicana/o Latina/o Student Resource Center (CLSRC)

CLSRC was founded in 1993. The CLSRC provides services and support for students who identify as, or are interested in, Chicana/o and/or Latina/o community and cultural issues.

USEU mission is to empower the Salvadoran community through the promotion of higher education.


YectliYectli Folklorico Dance Troupe (YFDT)

YFDT of CSULA exists to make the student body  aware of the culture of Mexico through dance and its different regions. 


National organizations

NACCSNational Association for Chicana and Chicano Studies (NACCS)

NACCS is the academic organization that serves academic programs, departments and research centers that focus on issues pertaining to Mexican Americans, Chicana/os, and Latina/os.


MALCS logoMujeres Activas en Letras y Cambio Social (MALCS)

MALCS is a national organization of Chicanas/Latinas and Native American women working in academia and in community settings with a common goal: to work toward the support, education and dissemination of Chicana/Latina and Native American women’s issues.
