Admission Procedures

1. Contact the Joint Doctoral Coordinator at CSULA and/or attend an Informational Meeting
2. Submit California State University, Los Angeles application

3. Submit CSULA Division of Special Education & Counseling doctoral application. Applications are due in February for fall admission. Please submit the following materials to the Program Coordinator:

Application form and statement of intent
Official transcripts from undergraduate and graduate study
Three letters of recommendation
Current GRE Scores

4. Applicants may be asked to participate in an oral interview with the Joint Doctoral committee members.

Admission Requirements

Minimum 3.0 undergraduate upper division and 3.5 graduate grade point average
Minimum 1,000 GRE combined verbal and quantitative scores
A master’s degree in Special Education or a related field
Minimum of three years of professional experience with individuals with disabilities
Demonstration of potential for successful completion of doctoral research
