Friends of the Charter College of Education

Scholor recipient with a supporterThe Friends of the Charter College of Education was founded in 1978 to support the College of Education at California State University, Los Angeles. As one of the oldest support groups at the university, the Friends regularly sponsors or co-sponsors activities that enhance education in general and the art of teaching in particular.

From academic workshops and professional development for faculty to annual new teacher recognition and student recruitment activities, to one of Los Angeles County's most highly regarded professional achievement awards - the Distinguished Educator Award Dinner - the Friends help to create and sustain the unique strengths of the Charter College of Education.

Membership in Friends is open to alumni, teachers and administrators, University faculty, community members and others who are interested in supporting the needs of students and programs of the university and the Charter College of Education.

It is through membership in the Friends that individuals who care about quality education can have a stake in the future of tomorrow's educators.
