The Department of Art at Cal State University Los Angeles is dedicated to promoting excellence in teaching, creative research and service to our community. As chair, I am honored to be working with a diverse group of faculty members and students.
Our Department is a vibrant community of artists, designers, educators and historians dedicated to helping future generations realize their dreams.
If you are a prospective out of state student, we hope you will be excited living in one of the greatest art capitals of the world. Our small classes and attentive faculty members are responsive to the individual needs and progress of their students, enhancing our friendly learning environment. All studios and equipment rank among the best anywhere. Two exhibition galleries, including the Luckman Gallery and one student run space, offer a vibrant program that features established and budding artists, as well as acclaimed art scholars from around the world.
The Department is accredited and nationally recognized by the National Association of Schools of Art and Design (NASAD). Opportunities for financial aid and scholarships for qualified students, combined with reasonable tuition and housing costs, make our university one of the most affordable institutions in its class.
