Instructional/Open Labs
The College of Arts and Letters has five labs available for instruction and open lab hours. Please refer to the Lab Newsletter (pdf) for information and usage policies for our labs. The newsletter is also available at each lab. Lab statistics are generated quarterly, and used in conjunction with faculty and student input in order to make decisions regarding lab services and resource allocation.

Multimedia Lab  MUS 211
This Lab has recently undergone an electrical upgrade. There are now 23 G5 Mac computers with DVD burners and flat panel monitors. There are also keyboard midi controllers and audio interfaces connected to the computers. All workstations include a wide variety of software for all Arts and Letters students that includes:

Adobe CS                (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign & Acrobat)
Studio MX               (Flash, DreamWeaver, Fireworks & Freehand)
Final Cut Studio       (Sound Track & Live Type, Final Cut Studio, DVD Studio Pro)

Interactive Music Lab  MUS 117
The Interactive Music Lab (IML) is specifically directed toward Music majors. There are 17 G5 Mac stations. This lab is equipped with the latest versions of music software for ear training, sequencing and notation. Software includes:

Computer Graphics and Animation Labs  FA 225 & FA 226
These labs are used for computer animation and computer graphics design.  FA 226 now features 25 G5 Mac computers with flat panel monitors. FA 225 is now equipped with 21 G5 Mac computers with dual processors and CD/DVD burners. Software in these labs include:

Animation Lab MUS 220
The College of Arts & Letters has recently opened  a brand new Animation Lab with state of the art equipment.  The lab boasts 18 Mac Pro workstations with large cinema displays for the ultimate computing experience. All workstations include a wide variety of software for all Arts and Letters students that includes:

Final Cut Studio     (Sound Track & Live Type, Final Cut Studio, DVD Studio Pro)

Modern Language Lab  KHD 1041
Available for students who wish to learn  foreign  languages including Chinese, French, German, Japanese, Portuguese, and Spanish.  Students are able to use interactive software in audio or video format to help them learn a particular language. This lab features 30 Windows XP PC computers. Some of our language lessons are available upon request for students that provide us with their own blank CDs. The software available in this lab includes:

Cyber Chinese                                               Microsoft Office
Divace Duo (Media Finder)                              Pinyin Master

 

Instructional Labs
There are two labs available for instruction only. They must be reserved via the University Scheduling office. Contact your department administrators to reserve these rooms.

Music Studios
There are three music studios available only to students of the Commercial Music program that must be reserved via the Arts and Letters Help Desk. Click on a lab to see its current schedule:

Open Access Labs
