Arts & Letters Productions is a support unit in the College of Arts and Letters that manages, supports and staffs all usage of the Performing Arts Facilities in the College of Arts and Letters, giving priority to all technical services and support relative to performance, performance venues, instructional/staged/lecture/production activities, and the technical classroom and space needs of faculty and students in the operations in the Department of Music, Theatre and Dance (MTD), as well as college sponsored events within Arts and Letters designated spaces. Productions also provides said services for other constituents both internal and external to the university on a need basis giving priority to the mission of the College of Arts and Letters, its departments and programs, and the educational experiences of our students.
A&L Productions is primarily staffed by formal Technical Staff employed by the College of Arts and Letters and advised by Production/Technical Support Faculty in MTD—with faculty supervising all instructional activity and professional staff supervising the performance and performance-related university facilities and support equipment. Productions works in conjunction and collaboratively with Faculty Directors and college departments to enhance the educational experiences of students. A&L Productions works to fulfill the mission of the department of Department of Music, Theatre and Dance, and the College of Arts and Letters, as well as to ensure a quality experience for all end users of university performance venues under the supervision of the College of Arts and Letters. A&L Productions serves students/faculty/staff within and outside of Arts and Letters who seek services, and outside vendors who request and are scheduled to use these university facilities by contractual agreement through the Performing Arts Facilities Coordinator assigned to work in the college, and approved by the university Facilities Use Coordinator.
Arts & Letters Productions schedules events, equipment use, and assigns support for all events and performances in college venues under the supervision of the College of Arts and Letters. Arts & Letters Productions reports to and is accountable to the Dean, College of Arts and Letters and through internal leadership, works to facilitate the needs of the college first and above all others, seeking to establish an efficiency of care and service to meet the immediate mission of the Department of Music, Theatre, Dance and college sponsored events.
