ART & ATTACHMENT
A Talk by Dr. Rita Felski, Professor of English at the University of Virginia
How would our view of literature and art change if we took “attachment” as a defining concept?
This talk focuses on the significance and salience of “ties” in our experience of art. It also offers a defense of identification and questions the standard opposition between sophisticated critics and naïve lay-readers.
Reception begins at 4:15 p.m. with the lecture at 5 p.m.
