Juried Competition for Program Growth and Development

Dear Colleagues,
The linked documents below describe a new planning process that should provide each of the Arts and Letters Departments with a structure to build your vision of your department’s future and to chart your program development and growth to match your vision. You will have a unique opportunity to tell your story to the other departments in the College of Arts and Letters, while helping me to advocate for you to internal and external audiences. I also hope that this juried competition will stimulate cooperation and collaboration within departments or even among several departments and colleges while directing your attention to several measurable aspects of academic programs, qualitative and quantitative, by which we are daily assessed.
I look forward to hearing your presentations and receiving your written plans. In the meantime, I and the Dean’s Office management are available to help you to develop your plans.
