Thank you for registering for VIP Welcome Day. Please see below for quick answers to some frequently asked questions about the event.
Do I need to bring anything?
Please bring a print out of the e-mail confirmation, your CIN, and any questions you may have about Cal State L.A.! Staff and faculty will be available to answer your questions.
What if I can't print the confirmation email?
Ask your teacher, friend or aunt to help you print it out. The printed confirmation e-mail will help you speed through check-in, and earn you a free Cal State L.A. gift!!!
Can I bring more guests?
No. Sorry, the event is at full capacity and we are unable to accommodate any additional guests.
My friend was also admitted to Cal State L.A. but did not receive the VIP Welcome Day invitation. Can s/he come with me?
No. The event is at full capacity and we are unable to accommodate any additional guests. VIP Welcome Day is an optional event, so your friend is not required to attend.
Your friend can still learn more about the University by arranging a campus tour and/or attending New Student Orientation. For more information about Campus Tours, please call (323) 343-3175, or e-mail tours@calstatela.edu. Free tours are offered Monday-Friday, at 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. Information about orientation will be sent to eligible fall 2011 admitted students in mid-June 2011.
Can I change my major?
For VIP Welcome Day, please let us know at check-in which major you are interested in and we will be able to redirect you to your new College for that day. You will still need to officially change your major during your first quarter.
What happens if I arrive late?
Please plan to arrive no later than 10 a.m. The event is on a set schedule, so late arrivals will cause you to miss key components of the program.
What happens if I have to leave early?
Please refer to the event program at http://www.calstatela.edu/academic/aa/vip/program/2011_VIP-Program.pdf to see what activities you may miss if you leave early.
