The use of animals in instructional activities or research (whether funded or unfunded) requires prior approval from the Cal State L.A. Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee (IACUC). The IACUC maintains oversight of University animal facilities and animal care procedures, and carries out such activities as required by law to assure the humane treatment of animals, in compliance with federal regulations.
