Fellowship Program (deadline for submission of complete applications to the CSULA Chapter: April 1, 2011) Every year, the Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi awards fifty-seven Fellowships of $5,000 each and three at $15,000 each to members entering the first year of graduate or professional study. Each Phi Kappa Phi chapter may select one candidate from among its local applicants to compete for the Society-wide awards. Each year CSULA’s chapter winner and runner-up receive $500 and $250 from the CSULA chapter respectively. Literacy Grants (deadline for applications to the Society: April 1, 2011) To mobilize members and resources of Phi Kappa Phi and the higher education community to champion literacy initiatives, grants of up to $2,500 are available to chapters and individual members to fund new or ongoing literacy projects as part of the Society’s mission to “engage the community of scholars in service to others.” Open to campus chapters and active individual members. Love of Learning Awards (deadline for applications to the Society: June 30, 2011) Love of Learning Awards will help fund post-baccalaureate studies and/or career development for active Phi Kappa Phi members to include (but not be limited to): graduate or professional studies, doctoral dissertations, continuing education, career development, travel related to teaching/studies, etc. Recipients of the Fellowship award are not eligible to apply. Eighty awards, at $500 each, will be awarded. The competition is open to all active (dues current) Phi Kappa Phi members who a) have completed their baccalaureate studies by application submission deadline, and b) did not receive a Fellowship or Award of Excellence grant. Study Abroad (deadline: April 1, 2011) Phi Kappa Phi Study Abroad Grants are designed to help support undergraduates as they seek knowledge and experience in their academic fields by studying abroad.
