Mission Statement:
International Programs and Services at California State University, Los Angeles will support the international community by collaborating with university and community partners to develop as well as promote activities and services to build a foundation of cultural understanding for our university and community.
Goal #1: International Students
We are focused on assisting international student to maintain a legal status and to adjust to a new life in the U.S.
Goal #2: Study Abroad/Exchange Students
We promote intercultural understanding by encouraging students to explore educational opportunities beyond the borders of California.

We provide guidance to campus departments and University employees on employment based visas.
Goal #4: Campus Community
We work closely with faculty, staff, students and alumni to support multicultural initiatives on our campus.

International Student Walk-in Advising
Immigration Counselor is available to see students and answer general questions during specific walk-in hours without an appointment. If you feel that you have a difficult situation that requires more attention, please schedule an appointment to see a counselor. Students submitting documents for reinstatement, employment authorization (except OPT), change of status or leave of absence MUST schedule an appointment.

Tuesdays & Wednesdays, 3:00 pm - 4:00 pm

Study Abroad Walk-in Advising

Individual Appointments
All our counselors are available for individual appointments. You must call the office at 323-343-3170 or drop by the office at Administration 127 to schedule an appointment during our regular business hours. Please do not email appointment requests.
Immigration counselor's appointments are now scheduled for 15 minutes each session.

Optional Practical Training Workshop - Spring 2008
You must attend an OPT workshop session prior to submitting your application. You should attend a workshop within one to two quarters prior to applying. USCIS does not consider the grad-check as completing your degree program. The completion of your program occurs when you have met all academic requirements to qualify for the degree.
