Yin Tam

Yin Tam is one the ITC at the College of Engineering Computer Science and Technology (ECST). He provides support to faculty, staff, and students in all designate offices and laboratories both on an as-needed and a longer term basis to increase computer use effectiveness in the college. Along with that, Yin installs, re-images, modifies, and configures computers and applications on PC, Macintosh, and Unix/Linux computers and servers in the college.

Background education
B.A. in Industrial Arts.

Area of expertise
-Windows NT/2000/XP, Mac OS and Unix/Linux operating systems.
-Windows and Unix/Linux servers, various OS security, network operating systems, dual boot and re-imaging computers.
-Install hardware, modify configure settings, apply Windows Registry settings and diagnose problems.
-Securing computer software to proven users from damaging or modifying the software setups.
-Interact with ESS personnel as needed to enhance the effective use of computing resources.
-Multimedia and distance learning technology.
