Advanced Topics in Moodle (Online)
Meet online to discuss advance moodle topics that can be used to meet your course objectives and help you better manage your Moodle experience. Some of these topics include using Quickmail, using an online scheduler, taking attendance, and managing your course list through the course overview plus block. Moodle Advanced: Gradebook
Receive a quick overview of Moodle's advanced gradebook features. Learn how to add columns, calculate average scores, create a grading scale and assign letter grades. After the demonstration, participants will be able to work on their own gradebook with instructional technologists at hand to provide assistance.
Moodle Advanced: Group Projects
This workshop is for advanced users. This workshop will cover the benefits of assigning group projects and strategies on how to create and manage groups online. Participants will learn three methods of creating groups by: (1) Manually creating topics and students self-select the topic they wish to work on, (2) Manually creating groups and instructor assigns specific students to a group, and (3) Automatically creating groups randomly. This workshop will also have participants create asynchronous discussion forums and synchronous chats to create spaces for sharing ideas and organizing content
Hands-on crash course to Moodle. In 90 minutes learn how to: Make your course available, rename, switch roles, turn on editing, hide/unhide documents,send emails to your students and add documents/announcements/assignments/discussion forums/wikis/quizzes and more. No advanced topics will be covered due to the session schedule.

Participants will learn how to set up a Turnitin assignment, download papers, view originality reports, grade, and provide feedback on student work through GradeMark. While Turnitin is no substitute for a well-written assignment, this tool can encourage self-reflective practice among students.
What's New in Moodle 2.4
CSULA has now successfully migrated to Moodle version 2.4. This information session will demonstrate a cleaner, more user-friendly Moodle with several added features. This workshop will teach you how to select settings for the New Assignment activity, grade groups, manage your Moodle course list, and learn simple tips and tricks. During this workshop training staff will provide support as you learn how to backup and restore materials from one course to another.
