Undergraduate Research Mentoring Grants
CETL Undergraduate Research Mentoring grants
CETL undergraduate research mentoring grants make use of mentoring as a high-impact practice for undergraduates. Here the teaching aspect of the mentoring is emphasized. The undergraduate mentoring experience is itself the focus, as distinct from using students to help with faculty scholarship. In the two years that CETL has run this mini-grant cycle, dozens of undergraduate have been intensively mentored by almost two dozen faculty.
At the end of the grant, students and faculty are each required to fill out short electronic reports reflecting on the mentor experience.
