Associate Vice President for Academic Affairs

The Office of the Associate Vice President for Academic Affairs (Associate VPAA) is part of the Office of the Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs.  The Associate VPAA reports to the Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs. The Office has the primary responsibility for ensuring educational effectiveness through oversight of the program review process and provides, leadership for assessment of institutional learning outcomes and assistance for the accreditation of programs by Specialized/Professional Accrediting Organizations.  The Associate VPAA also serves as the Accreditation Liaison Officer to the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC).

The Office coordinates the Five Year Academic Master Plan for the University and implements campus-wide strategic planning efforts.  The Associate VPAA serves as the Accountability Coordinator for the campus, in response to the CSU Accountability Initiative.  In addition, the Associate VPAA works closely with other units of the campus to plan Honors Convocation and Commencement ceremonies.

The Office supports the Provost on several new initiatives and shared-governance with faculty.  The Associate VPAA serves as the liaison to the Los Angeles County High School for the Arts (LACHSA) and coordinates procedures and monitors space requirements of LACHSA.
