Overview

Recruitment for tenure-track and temporary faculty positions at Cal State L.A. is administered primarily by specific departments, divisions, and schools. Additionally, announcements for tenure-track positions are posted on the CSU Careers web site and on the Cal State L.A. Human Resources web site  and announcements for tenure-track and academic administrative positions are often published in the Chronicle of Higher Education.

For departments with approved recruitments:

Department chairs must request recruitments from their College Deans.  Once a department has approval from the Dean (and through the Dean, from the Provost/VPAA) to open a recruitment, they should submit the position announcement for tenure-track or lecturer recruitments to the Dean for approval; once the Dean approves, the position description should be forwarded to the Office of Faculty Affairs for approval and posting.
