Tenure-Track Assistant Professor
1) An earned doctorate in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent) from an accredited institution is required; however, applicants nearing completion of the doctorate (ABD) may be considered; the doctorate must be completed by the date of appointment (8/16/2018);
2) Evidence of publications in scholarly journals, and;
3) Ability to demonstrate a commitment to working effectively with faculty, staff, and students in a multicultural/multiethnic urban campus environment with a substantial population of first-generation students.
1) Demonstrated expertise in computer architecture and embedded systems, programming languages and High Performance Computing (HPC), or machine learning,
2) Demonstrated ability to leverage the College’s strong, well established ties to local industry;
3) Successful experience in generating financial resources through grants/contracts, and;
4) Demonstrated teaching experience at the undergraduate and/or graduate level.
The primary professional responsibilities of instructional faculty members are: teaching, research, scholarship and/or creative activity, and service to the University, profession and to the community. These responsibilities generally include: advising students, participation in campus and system-wide committees, maintaining office hours, working collaboratively and productively with colleagues, and participation in traditional academic functions.
Faculty members are responsible for participating in development of the program curricula and courses, coordination of courses in their areas of expertise, and preparation for the ABET accreditation.

Initial salary is commensurate with qualifications and experience.

The Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering (http://www.calstatela.edu/ecst/ece) is in the College of Engineering, Computer Science, and Technology. The College offers ABET-accredited BS programs in Civil, Electrical, and Mechanical Engineering; Computer Science; an ATMAE-accredited BS program in Industrial Technology; and BS degrees in Aviation Administration, Fire Protection Administration and Technology, and Graphic Communications. The College also offers Master of Science degrees in Computer Science, Civil, Electrical, and Mechanical Engineering, and a Master of Arts degree in Technology.
