Tenure-Track Assistant Professor of Civil Engineering, Construction Management

Starting Date:

August, 2018

Minimum Qualifications:

1) An earned An earned doctorate in Civil Engineering, or closely related field, from an accredited institution (or equivalent) is required; however, applicants nearing completion of the doctorate (ABD) may be considered. The doctorate must be completed by the date of appointment (8/16/18);
2) Demonstrated teaching experience at the undergraduate level;
3) Evidence of publications in scholarly journals, and;
4) Ability to demonstrate a commitment to working effectively with faculty, staff, and students in a multicultural/multiethnic urban campus environment with a substantial population of first-generation students.

Preferred Qualifications:

1) Demonstrated expertise and work experience within construction engineering management.
2) Successful experience generating financial resources through grants/contracts;
3) Demonstrated teaching experience at the graduate level, and;
4) Professional civil engineering registration.

Duties:

The primary professional responsibilities of instructional faculty members are: teaching, research, scholarship and/or creative activity, and service to the University, profession and to the community. These responsibilities generally include: advising students, participation in campus and system-wide committees, maintaining office hours, working collaboratively and productively with colleagues, and participation in traditional academic functions.

Salary:

Initial salary is commensurate with qualifications and experience.

The Department:

The College of Engineering, Computer Science and Technology offers ABET-accredited BS programs in Computer Science and Civil, Electrical, and Mechanical Engineering; as well as BS degrees in Industrial Technology, Aviation Administration, Fire Protection Administration and Technology, and Graphic Communications. The College also offers Master of Science degrees in Civil, Electrical, and Mechanical Engineering, and a Master of Arts degree in Industrial and Technical Studies.
