Assistant Professor of Photography
1) An earned MFA degree in Photography (including equivalent or closely related degrees) is required;
2) Evidence of a successful exhibition record;
3) Successful teaching experience at the university level,
4) Demonstrated experience teaching history and theory, especially in critical issues of contemporary photography, and;
5) An ability to demonstrate a commitment to working effectively with faculty, staff, and students in a multicultural/multiethnic urban campus environment with a substantial population of first-generation students.
1) Experience in darkroom, digital, and alternative photographic processes;
2) Fluency in contemporary photographic practices, and;
3) Previous academic program planning or leadership experience.
The primary professional responsibilities of instructional faculty members are: teaching, research, scholarship and/or creative activity, and service to the University, profession and to the community. These responsibilities generally include: advising students, participation in campus and system-wide committees, maintaining office hours, working collaboratively and productively with colleagues, and participation in traditional academic functions.

The successful candidate will be capable of expanding an established photography areaThe candidate will teach a broad range of undergraduate courses from introductory to advanced levels at both undergraduate and graduate students in BA, MA, and MFA programs.
Initial salary is commensurate with qualifications and experience.
