Assistant Professor

Minimum Qualifications:

An earned doctoral degree in Information Systems or a closely related field obtained from an AACSB accredited institution with expertise in one or more of the following areas of Information Systems: internet security, mobile and web application development, cloud computing technologies, big data, business intelligence and social media. A candidate should have strong technical skills and be able to learn and use groundbreaking technologies.  Candidates must demonstrate a record of, or potential for, publication in established refereed journals.  They must show evidence of effective teaching using a variety of methodologies and are expected to be innovative teachers with strong instructional skills at the graduate and undergraduate levels.   

Ideally, the candidates will be dynamic, collaborative, collegial, and willing to contribute to the mission of the Department, as well as the College and University. Good written and oral communication skills are necessary for this position.

Preferred Qualifications:

Professional experience in information systems/information technology is desirable.


The primary professional responsibilities of instructional faculty members are: teaching, research, scholarship and/or creative activity, and service to the University, profession and to the community.  These responsibilities generally include: advising students, participation in campus and system-wide committees, maintaining office hours, working collaboratively and productively with colleagues, and participation in traditional academic functions.

In addition to teaching courses in Information Systems and engaging in scholarly activities, the duties include advisement and committee service at the Department, College and University level. 


Initial salary commensurate with qualifications and experience.
