Graduate Assistant for Information Systems Department
Fall quarter 2013, recurring in forthcoming quarters as needed.
Degree-seeking graduate student in the College of Business and Economics (CBE). Graduate Assistants must be registered in a CBE graduate degree program and must be enrolled in courses towards the completion of that graduate degree during the appointment period. Applicants must have the ability to relate well to others within the academic environment, and demonstrate ability and/or interest in working in a multiethnic, multicultural environment.
As a University dedicated to engagement, service and the public good, the successful candidate will be expected to join faculty, staff, students and administrators in a commitment to these purposes.
The applicant should display an ease and comfort in interacting with undergraduate students. Good communication skills are essential.
- Must be enrolled as a full-time graduate student at California State University, Los Angeles.
- Must be a graduate student enrolled in the MSIS Program or the MBA Program with a Concentration in Information Systems.
- Must be in good academic standing.
- Candidate should be enrolled in at least 8 credit hours of graduate courses per quarter.
- The graduate student should have good communication skills.
Under the general supervision of the faculty member and Information Systems Department, the Graduate Assistant will provide assistance in the instruction of students by conducting small discussion groups related to large lectures course activities, may assist in handling equipment, maintaining office hours to provide direct individual contact between student and graduate assistant, clarifying course material or course content for students. Will perform clerical or other routine tasks such as grading examinations, recording grades, etc.; assisting faculty with research and preparation of course materials; participating in the evaluation of students’ work and other related tasks.
Current Graduate Assistant rate.
